18 month or 24 month contract??

My 18 month contract with orange has finished and im currently on a payg.

Im looking at getting the iphone 4 but cant decide on a 18 month or 24 month contract?.
I would prefer to go with orange again as the signal where i live and work is excellent. Vodafone is out the question due to no signal at all!.

Im also looking for unlimited texts but orange only do this on 24 month contracts.

Do you think 24 month contracts are too long?, what do most people go for and what would you recommend?.

Personally I've just gone for a new 18 month contract - I want the option to upgrade as often as I reasonably can.

I think with an iPhone, especially a launch iPhone 2 year isn't bad..

It's not a phone you will get rid of in 6month

I signed up for 24 months with my new Desire.
I'm not one to replace my phone very often - so I think 2yrs on the Desire and I'll be about ready to see what else is out there.

Never done more than 12, 18 months is far to long and 24 is crazy

I remember when 12 month contracts were standard. Then they started trying to force people onto 18 month ones and phased out the 12 months. Now they seem to be doing the same thing again and forcing people onto ridiculous 2 year contracts.

I will never go on a 2 year contract - 18months is the limit for me.
