Hi,

Looking to build myself a pc and looking around 1800 but would go to 2000, this price has to include a monitor.

I have added a load of items to my basket, I'd appreciate if anyone would critique and improve the spec if possible;

8 pack approved Intel core i5 6400 @ 4.4Ghz overclocked quad core gaming bundle species with Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 & Alpenföhn Brocken 2 CPU Cooler - £396.96

MSI GeForce GTX 1070 GAMING X 8G 8192MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card - £419.99

Super Flower Leadex GOLD 750W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black - £106.99

Samsung 500GB 850 EVO SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps 32 Layer 3D V-NAND Solid State Drive - £129.95

Fractal Design Define R5 midi tower case -
£109.99

Dell S2716DG 27" 2560x1440 monitor - £529.99

Have I missed anything with the above? Can I improve it much over the above specs? Any input is appreciated.

^^ Looks good!

@OP - any reason you're looking at 16GB RAM? You could drop it down to 8gb but for only £40 ish difference, probably not really worth it.

I would also remove the OS/DVD drive and download via ISO and install using USB. Coupled with reducing the RAM, you may (i've not checked) be able to get a 1080 in there.

HAHAH, what a good call. couldnt get much closer

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,996.78
(includes shipping: £0.00)

If i'm honest i would probably be happier in the long run with the 1070 build. Just because i dont think youll see the 1080 benefit on a 2560 monitor and you save a bunch of money. Def get rid of the dvd drive if you can get the iso though.

It's not a 1080p monitor mate ;)

Yes, but with Gsync, anything in that functional range will be pretty smooth. Playing at 110-140 range will be the same experience as 60-100, give or take. I just don't see £230 of benefit in that.

@OP - i'm sure you'll be happy whatever you pick :)
