Do i really need 600w? i thourght 500 would be enough?

i could get the Enermax Noisetaker EG701AX-VE(W) SFMA 24P (ALL IN ONE) SLI Supports 600Watt Power Supply

If i really need it?

What about overall performance of a system like this? will it be future proof?

You need a better PSU.

Agreed :) I assume you're not building this yourself- any reason why? I feel quite confident in saying that you could do better for your money if you did build yourself...

Much better IMO. You get a PSU which will actually power the system as well which is a bonus :D

Yes, you need 600W or greater PSU. If you don't believe us, try plugging that system with a 400W++ PSU.

Edit: Trigger's spec recommendation is a good one. Cheaper and equally as good if not better.

^^^^^ Updated :) thanks for the advice ^^^^^

Secondly

Performance - will this spec be "future proof" willit be able to thrash out games like Battlefield 2 at max settings with no glitches im into games but i dont want sub-par graphics.

In answer to Trigger - yes this is being built for me i dont really want to build a PC myself for one i dont have the time and two i dont really know where to start!

It's dead easy- just like lego. Everything has its own place and will only go in one way around, plus there are loads of free guides on the net. As for time, I can put a PC together in about 30 mins now which includes the mandatory 10 minutes to fiddle with the damn heatsink :o but for a first build, it shouldn't take any more than two hours :) You get a much better feeling knowing that you have built it yourself and a much better system for less money as well- you can't lose  :D

Ditto. There's a point where you just can't go any quicker without the risk of
being asked to fix it a few days later...

Took extra care on mine, almost a couple of hours of getting everything right. I'm sure you can spare that? And you'll never learn if you don't try, just follow guides and ask on here :)
