1800 or 1900 clocked using windows media player..

I had a 1800xt clocked and now my 1900xt performs the same way windows media player locks up with a funny patten screen. If i unclock these card it works fine. The funny thing is i can play any other game including oblivion for hours and it works fine.

Any one know how to fix this problem? is it trying to switch to 2d mode when it cant? because ive disabled it with the ATI services?

media player visualisations using 3d parts of the video card ( which you disabled- why?), just a guess mind you

d/l a different mp3 player and see if it still happens - just thought you may be disabling overlay as well, which could be part of media player??

Iam guessing you meant disabling 3d mode - you cant possibly disable 2d mode otherwise windows wouldnt work at all - i am only guessing here mind maybe ask in the windows section

He hasn't disabled 3d or 2d mode. He has only disabled the automatic switch that the card has to increase its clocks in a 3d app.

You could try disabling the visualisations on media player and see if that works.

I never had this problem when I had a X1800XT 512mb. That was with the services disabled as well.

yea sorry i have disabled the switch to 3d mode so i can clock. It crashes when i play movies via it. lost, invasion etc

If theres a game that will find a weakness with your graphics card Oblivion does the trick.
