1800xt on 22" TFT?

I have just purchased a 22" monitor, it should be here by friday. I will start running games at 1680 x 1050. I currently run games at 1280 x 1024 and the card has no problems, however moving up to a higher resolution I was wondering just how the card would cope.

In a nut shell i'm just curious to know if I will get a small performance drop or whether all hell will break lose and the card just won't cope.

i have the X1800XT and im running oblivion for example at 1920x1200... it runs fine, and i didnt really have to sacrifice any settings.

Seriously!!?? Do you have the 512Mb version? What FPS are you getting and what settings do you have on?

X1800XT will struggle at that res IMO, but having 512Mb version will help.

Its not a massive jump in resolution, so i dont think you will notice more then a few frames in most games.

Im thinking of jumping to a 22" from a 15" with my x1800xt... that jump from 1024x768 to 1680x1050 is sure gonna be noticeable for me performance wise. My pc isnt the best performance wise... dodgy drivers, bloatware in the background... ive been slacking ever since i upgraded from my Gf4 mx . I guess i'll have to go back to eeking the last fps out of everything... but i'll get by.

If your happy with your performance at 1280x1024 then you will be happy with the 1680x1050 performance. If your borderline or unhappy... maybe time to upgrade.

As for oblivion... i 2nd that wtf. My x1800xt is no spring chicken at 1024x768 ... do i do like my hdr+aa

Went from 19" Ws (1440x900) to 22" WS (1680*1050) and my X1800XT struggled with CoD2 on max. It was fine at 19"... and it was the 256MB version.
