£1850 gaming rig help please

Hi, I've got around £1850 to spend on a gaming rig and I would like the input from you guys. I fear the Mrs will spend what's left over so I'd rather use as much of it as possible :D although a monitor upgrade might be good too if there is spare but its not essential (I hope).

I still use my Iiyama 22" CRT running on 2048 x 1536. I did try and budget in a 24" monitor but even after reading the monitor area of the forums i still can't decide because my CRT still performs well.

I currently dont have a PC as I'm building a replacement for one that has been damaged so waiting for the new GFX cards to come out is not an option :). 7 weeks without a PC and I've got Skyrim and BF3 here taunting me.... I've spent hours upon hours over the past few weeks browsing over GFX cards but i can't make head nor tail of it in the end. I see one review saying dual 6970's, then one for 6950's and then 580's. And then there is overclocking CPU's.

Your help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Stulid, I think I'll go for without the monitor for now, I've taken note of the BenQ and I'll nab that after Xmas. The 3gb 580 looks a treat, that will give me an option to upgrade to Sli in a year or so if needed?

Quantity 2 :) that number was lying next to my sniper chit hehe. That looks a super setup. I'm just going through each item to see whats in them :)
 
Thanks Stulid you have made my day with your help :)

I'm geared towards the 580sli 3gb setup for two reasons, it's faster and I can pick up the monitor (hopefully cheaper) in two months :)
 
I went to vortez.net and looked at the review to that case, it had the lowest load temperature for the CPU out of all the cases it had reviewed. Nice one m8.

So thats Black PCB, Black motherboard, Black/Grey RAM, Black cooler etc, can you see a theme?

I'm the same :) I'll go for a 120hz Monitor first. I would bend over backwards for the surround display, I'd just need to hide some cash somewhere safe till I could buy them at once and tell her they were on a 2for1 deal lol :D
