.

I think I've seen it referred to as a frame infill before, but I'm having no luck finding a pair for a 2012 Street Triple.

If I can't find a replacement, any idea how I can strip it back to the original paint/plastic? It appears to be covered in a matte off-white paint.

you can get the paint off with some wire wool if your carefull,or just spray over them in black matte paint

£38 a side seems expensive to me for a bit of plastic

That's why I asked about how to remove the paint :)

Ideally I strip the paint back to the black plastic, polish and put a gloss paint on. If it goes wrong I want to be able to get spares.

Yeah just paint it something that small wont take long at all, sand it down with some wet and dry, primer, wet and dry, paint, dry, clearcoat.

Just have a look on youtube, plenty of how to videos.

If you want it black, do it properly I say. By the time you've painted it, you could have removed the tank etc. and swapped it out for a proper part, avoiding any risk of overspray. Granted the replacement parts aren't a bargain, but they're not bank-breaking either.

Yeah, I'm pretty torn right now!

Using that ebay link I can see the part number is 2508320, but I'm not having any joy finding the new prices.

Edit: Looks like they're the frame infills on here: http://www.worldoftriumph.com/trium...ck_01=&block_02=100058247-0-2&block_03=610100. Items 36 and 37. It looks like there are 2 versions depending on your VIN.

I'll call them up tomorrow to confirm as the diagram doesn't have the grills that my 2012 model has, but they might not have updated the diagrams. For £50 for the pair I'll just get new ones!

if your good you can mask off the area and spray them in place

otherwise take your time and remove the tank, its not a big job

go to jawel paints and ask them to colour match an aerosol of white and respray it white

so it matches the tank, thats what I would do and id take time masking it up or taking it apart to do it
