.

You can have both but you need to get one of the new (and expensive) mounts for them.

Thanks for the real-world feedback, I'll keep it in mind if I go for a test ride.

Got a Tiger 800 test ride next week but to be honest I'd prefer a Sports-Tourer for the handling.

They have one in the showroom here with all 3 boxes on. I'm not sure of the year though so you could be correct as it wasn't new.

My French is **** so I could only smile and nod as the chap bleated on about escargots and grenouilles.

So much variety to consider! I was hoping I'd be seeing a common theme.

How are the Suzuki DL1000's (VStrom)?

Sport tourer is my preference in comparison to adventure bikes, but there really isn't a theme of a few good bikes to choose from.

I'm not sure if that's a good thing (they're all decent) or a bad thing (they're all crap) :p

Looking into it more, an older VFR800 looks great for luggage and cost. I just need to find a decent one to test ride for comfort.

£3K or less ideally, up to £4K if it's really worth it.

I already have my toy and this is more of a work horse so I don't ruin it with too much weight :p

I live in the land of milk and money, so I will have to source one locally.

I'll have a good nosey around for review on that model though as it looks very interesting, cheers :)

Edit: It has silly power!

Edit 2: There's one with a modified seat and full luggage near me. 23K KM's for CHF 5K, I'll have to see if I can get a test ride.

What you describe is exactly what I'm after.

7K rpm on the motorway 2-up on a Street Triple with a loaded rucksack isn't exactly ideal.
