Good to see you've now experienced the BMW quick shifter. Now try one of the bikes that goes both ways ;)

A quick shifter that goes up seems completely pointless though as closing the throttle and applying a tiny bit of pressure on the gear lever quick shifts for me on any bike :p

Down would make a big difference through as it is hard to brake and blip the throttle at the same time whilst also paying attention to the corner.

So you have no problem dropping the throttle to upshift but blipping the throttle to downshift is too much effort? :D
You cannot drop the throttle change gear and get back on full throttle as quick as a QS can, no matter how quick people think they are, auto down blippers are just a step too far in electronics for my liking, riders wont have to do anything soon but dodge drivers.

Yeah, I don't need to brake when up shifting :p It's not a big deal anyway, I just think an auto blipper to down shift is way more useful than quick shifting up. Maybe once I try one I'll find it equally as useless for me.

I don't do track days so the extra 300ms saved with a quick shifter is completely lost on me I suppose. I know I'm not anywhere near as quick so I am under no delusions of grandeur ;)

What are your thoughts on the electronics package on the S1000R/RR? It's the first time where I felt like I had less impact on what the bike than the "electronic brain" did.

Gosh that's a good looking bike. Would get rid of the exhaust system straight away though; ruins the bikes looks.

And they're actually quite cheap. £10,350 for the standard.

Yeah, it's a lot of bike for the money and looks great, which is why I test rode one.

It's a shame the engine and disconnected feeling aren't for me as it is a class leading machine.
