Hi there

A couple of our warehouse girls booked in some new soon to be released product, unfortunately it was a near death experience for them.......

They barely survived!

Thankfully the naughty new products that ripped their jeans up like this are now all booked in and in a cage ready to be unleashed on customers soon. :D

It's going to be at least £999 or a slim chance of something like £989 or £979 to pretend like they aren't taking the ****.

Look at the launch of Ryzen - $499 for the 1800x equated to £499 here.

Can you explain to me how you expect it to be any better with current pound strength?

You are aware the live rate of GBP vs USD is 1.30, as such most banks give around 1.26-1.29 varies depending on bank, but lets just say 1.29.

$999 / 1.29 = £775

So yes we do get it cheaper!

But of course it seems like every forum member here forgets about the UK tax, so add 20% back and your at £930, before any shipping, margins are added on. So yeah due to the weak pound whatever a product cost in USD it typically cost the same or more in GBP.

Wasn't Ryzen 6pm UK time? 12 midday EST, or it may even be 2pm EST which would be 8pm BST.

Unfortunately these processors are so angry and so ready for a fight, we've had to send them to rehab for some calming down before customers can get a chance to get their hands on them. ;)

*Or maybe the internets were just wrong on when the product would be available! :)

Threadripper is simply incredible if you use the applications that make use of its cores, it is insanely fast and offers the performance of Intel chips costing more than double.

However I will say this if you gaming and doing video streaming, value for money wise the R5 1600 is really the CPU to beat, it is bloody fantastic. R5 1600 OC'd, 3200MHz DDR4 is a killer setup and in relative terms does not cost a fortune and is a great all rounder for gamer and semi-pro video/photographer manipulator/editor. :)

Hi there

This thread is for TR, but that is not launched yet, just SI pre-orders, no on shelf parts to be sold or offered yet, but soon!

Best value for gaming and light video work I'd always recommend 1600X/B350/3200Mhz RAM, that setup will plainly just work, be super-fast and very future proof.

Those who want to tweak should go 1600 or 1700 with an X370 and some very good 3200/3600MHz RAM.

P.S. Ryzen 3 is IN STOCK, grab a cheapo mainboard, 1200 or 1300X, some 3200 RAM and you got a lot of performance for a small outlay and come upgrade time you only need swap the CPU out.
