18kg flywheel?

I keep seeing 18kg (or don't bother) mentioned for flywheel bikes , what's that all about?

I see that they recommend the JLL IC400 which is more than i thought they would cost.

I got a heavier flywheel for a turbo trainer I had and it made it much better to ride.

I see that some reviews of Flywheel bikes say that you can stand while cycling while others you can't which makes things more confusing.

The above review is a good example of a cheap £300 flywheel bike that gives mixed messages , if you watch from 4:00 mins onwards she says it's great for her but not for someone bigger and heavier as she thinks it might be too unstable and at 4:40 mins she shows you Wobbly handlebars that she can't tighten.

So i'm guessing the build quality is the main issue with stand up cycling rather than flywheel or base stability but i could be wrong as reviews seem to contradict each other.

I can't imagine the price of exercise bikes will drop back to near normal anytime soon.
