 My mate says the text size on his 24" 16:9 lcd is the same size as his 19" at 1280x1024. Im not saying my mate is lying but the maths dont add up.

1. A 24" is roughly the same size as a 19" hight wise. 2 The res is miles higher on a 24" then a 19". So how can the text on a 19" 5:4 and 24"widescreen 16:9 be the same size??

People on this form said I would need a 26" or 27" to get the text size the same as on a 19" 5:4??? Im real confused.

This is the other thread I was discussing the text sizes in guys

i know the fool your on about, that guy was arguing with me that a widescreen display increases loading times since the progress bar has a further distance to travel.

i just facepalmed and didnt even attempt to counter his stupidity.

Well that wasn't me, in this thread Phil is talking about me ;)

Comparing my 19" and 24" side by side, at a glance the text size looks roughly the same. I'm not saying it is, just saying that the change in text size isn't major :)

LMFO :p

a 19" 4:3 LCD monitor is surprisingly big, seems a lot bigger than a 19" widescreen
