There seem to be sod all crts around these days. The only one of the ocuk site seems to be sold out (Hyundai ImageQuest Q995 19'').

Is any more stock likely to come in?

Are these any good? (anyone here have one?)

It supports 1280*1024 at 85hz, which is what I generally play at, and is cheap as chips.

Whatever you do avoid the hyundai imagequest crts. They have a reputation for being dodgy.

I started a thread yesterday about them: Clicky

I'm on my third replacement monitor as all of the previous ones had serious faults and it seems i'm not the only one

Cheers for that. I think i'll give this one a miss.

Any suggestions for a decent 19" crt? Price isn't a huge issue (up to £350 ish), it's finding the damn things

Lol, I'm still on the iiyama pro 450 back from 1997. I see the 19" TFTs/LCD in the shops and at mates' houses and in my opinion they're still not as good!

I agree entirely. It saddens me that you can't get many CRTs any more. I've just recently bought a 19" TFT (LG1915S) and reading the reviews on the site I bought it from, it is full of comments like 'great for games' and 'no ghosting'... which is of course total nonsense :) Even scrolling a flipping webpage results in ghosting compared to a CRT. Play a fast FPS game and it's a blurry ghosty mess.

Oh well, I had to buy a new monitor because my old 17" CRT is on the way out... and I couldn't find a decent, reasonably priced (preferably 19") CRT to replace it with.

I know what you mean mate, it's so weird that people are fussed about how their monitors and stuff look, I'd rather the picture quality itself rocked above anything else!

My Viewsonic G90f+, came along with my prebuilt system.

I love it, perfectly flat CRT, 18" viewable. Very clear and great for gaming - unlike many of my mate's 19" TFTs, picture quality wise. :)

Agreed. There's no way i'd pay £1000 on a beefy gaming system and then play on a tft.

I now have 2 P227fB

See it all with 2048 x 1536 maximum resolution
Displays a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536; 1600 x 1200 @ 99Hz flicker-free refresh rate for easy-on-the-eyes viewing.
2048 x 1536 @ 79Hz
1920 x 1440 @ 84Hz
1600 x 1200 @ 99Hz
1280 x 1024 @ 115Hz

I have the Hyundai ImageQuest Q995 19'' and its a brilliant monitor, Ive had it for over a year now and its still going strong. A very good thing going for the 19" model is that it has a very small footprint, its about the same as a 17" CRT. The only slight niggle is the screen can shift slightly every now and again, this is easily sorted though. Id highly recommend it anyway.

I would like to get a 20" wide screen tft but all i keep reading is how rubbish they are for gaming. Are they really that bad compared to a CRT?.

All the ones i've bought have been - and all were sent back. I prefer a tft for general browsing, and think they look the business, but would never use one for gaming. It was the same with two lcd tvs I got for the 360 too.

What is best for use with a 360 then do you think?. The 360 my brother bought looks absolutely awful on our 26" widescreen CRT TV, I'm assuming this is because of the large pixels and it'll be running at 600x400 or whatever the default res is of a normal TV. So i was thinking of getting a HD LCD but again it wouldn't look as good as a CRT monitor and apparently larger LCD screens are poor for games. So is there anything else available?, it seems a shame to have a console thats supposed to look miles better than PC gfx but theres nothing to display it on. Are there any widescreen CRT monitors about?. I'm going to stick with my 19" CRT as it looks amazing and i can view it from any angle etc, just a shame it takes up so much space and isn't widescreen.
