Hi Folks,
I am looking to source some frames(19") to attach an lcd onto to mount
in a standard 19" rack. I can find tons of hits for frame+lcd together (with
urine extracting prices) but cannot source the frames my themselves.
Can anyone point me in the right direction ?

Regards

Surely the "frame" is attached to the lcd in such a way that they are one and the same thing, so I doubt you are going to be able to find a generic frame that you can stick any old lcd on.

My personal choice would be a Dell 4U132, they are v.good.

As a bodge, any metal worker would cut you some sheet steel to 19inches and then cut out a hole for the monitor to fit into with a lip on the bottom to take the weight and even powder coat it what ever colour you wanted. Secure it in (glue?) and youve got yourself a cheap rack mount monitor.

Guys thanks for the replys

I did find the startech one , but the management wanted a nice
front surround to make it pretty :(

@mark , yeah we have i house technicians who could do such a thing but our manager doesnt trust them to do it right ...... :(

Surely if you measure the size yourself and tell them it needs to be exact then if it doesnt fit you simply return it until it comes back the right size?

Or if it comes back a few mm bigger stick a thin layer of dark foam around then get some black sealant and seal around the 4 edges and you'll never see.
