19 inch rack case

Hi folks,

Im looking around for a case for a project we are starting. Need to find a pc case in 1u, 2u and 4u with a removable rack mounting kit. I.e. one that can either be a standalone unit with the rack kit removed and rubber feet stuck on or fit and be mounted into a 19 inch rack. Something along the lines of cisco or juniper routers.

I have already asked here at OC and they said they dont sell that sort of stuff but I wondered if anybody here has any experience of sourcing this stuff.

Im thinking of looking to china if needs be but would rather buy from the UK if the price wasnt too much more.

Supermicro is your friend Have a look at their 4U chassis

Otherwise if you're looking cheaper here a few more you might want to look at:

• Antec do some which might allow the fittings to be removed
• Compucase (S411)
• Codegen I think do some which you can remove the handles from and use as desktops

*edit* Just re-read, they might be a bit long for you :S However Supermicro's rack fittings are removable so you could look at their smaller 1 or 2U racks, but standing one that thin on its side is a little sketchy if you ask me.
