I am looking to get a new monitor and have seen the Viewsonic VP930 19" and the Viewsonic VX2025 20" Widescreen. However the 20" screen is £5 cheaper than the 19" screen and i wondered why this was. Anybody?

Looking at the tech specs, the 19" has better contrast 1000:1 compared to 800:1, it also had 2 analogue inputs wheras the 20" has one. The 20" probably uses cheapo parts as well and probably has a poor viewing angle (probably why it isn't mentioned).

they are pretty much the same screen, just on different scales. They both use an 8ms G2G P-MVA panel from AU Optronics, one is 19" and the other 20"WS. The reason for the price difference is Viewsonic's monitor range classification. The VP930 is part of their "Pro" series which is their highest end line of monitors. This features more ergonomic adjustments than their VX range, with pivot and rotate as well as height adjustment. They also have a full dead pixel policy on their VP series which was recently added. The VX2025WM is a little more restricted in its adjustments, only being able to tilt. IT has a zero dead pixel policy only on white/black fully dead pixels, and not on red/blue/green dead sub pixels.

just gone from a 19" to the viewsonic 2025...and I would recommend the 20 a lot more than a 19"....for everything. The 2025 is excellent for gaming also.
