19" vs 19" Widescreen

I currently have 2 x 19" TFTs and I want to change 1 of them to a 19" Widescreen one.

Would I notice the difference from a normal 19" to a widescreen one. Maybe a picture from someone would really help, thanks.

Btw, I will be using it for games, specifically WOW.

The 19" widescreen will have lower vertical resolution than the normal aspect screen ...

this is something i would like to know....

does widescreen make a huge difference.... :confused:

am going to get the Hanns-G HW191D to replace my Benq 17" TFT....

will this be a big increase in visual looks....

Cut out two pieces of paper

4:3- 19" diagonal
16:10 - 19" diagonal

I just had to make the same choice recently, and I chose a non-WS display in the end. I was surprised how much bigger a 19 inch 5:4 display looks compared to a 19 inch 16:10 display. I'd have loved to have afforded a 20 inch WS display, but the 19 inch WS displays just didn't do it for me.

I also wouldnt get a 19" wide as to me they look really small, for wide its got to be at least 20" i think.

widescreen is best if you watch films all the time. otherwise its better to be square

I Agree as the height difference is about 1.5 inches (sorry showing my age) 3.8cm

I always find when going back to my 17" (1280x1024) TFT the screen looks squashed! WS is just sexy! I'd recommend a 20" though as 19" is kinda a bit small for WS.

PC monitors aren't 16:9 though. So for films it would still be best to get a 16:9.

Gaming on widescreen on a non-widescreen but stretched mode is fine.
