I'm spec'ing a new system and am looking at using 3 monitors and the Triple Head 2 Go unit from Matrox.

It's maximum resolution is 3 x 1280 x 1024.

Now, 1280 x 1024 is the native resolution of 19" LCDs whereas 1600x1200 is the native for 20" (i.e. not talking widescreens here).

What I want to know is how well does a good 20" upscale a 1280x1024 image compared to a native 1280x1024 image on a good 19" (e.g. VP930) - since the 20" will have the higher dpi.?

Thanks...

for windows use it's not really a good idea to run the screen outside of it's native resolution since although modern screens scale quite well, the image would look blurry and pixelated. For gaming it's not too bad an issue, but for windows and other uses i'd suggest sticking with 3x 19" if you need to use them all at 1280 x 1024
