20-22" Widescreen Monitor recommendation

Hi,

I am looking to buy a 19" Widescreen Monitor for extreme gaming and watching movies and TV for around £200 - £250

Due to the lack of space in my room, I would like the monitor to have built in speakers. However, do you think their quality will be decent for gaming ?

Also should I get TFT , LCD , X-Black ??

I would appreciate your recommendations

thanks
Ash

TFT and LCD are the same thing. X-Black is sonys anti-reflection coating IIRC. Don't think Sony do much in the way of PC monitors anymore. Anyway, for £250 you can get 20"/22". Or you can get 19" from under £150 if you want to save some money. Since you've got the budget for 19", 20" and 22" you want to be thinking about the resolution you want first, then whether you mind limited viewing angles, in which case don't get a TN panel screen, go for an MVA/PVA/IPS (LCD panel types). Then think about whether you need DVI or whether VGA is enough. Lots of great screens out there that fit your budget though.

Built in speakers are usually really poor but hopefully someone can recommend a screen that has half decent ones.

Hi fish,

given that i will be watching movies as well while lying on my bed i would like to have good viewing angles and my graphics card supports dvi...

can you recommend anything with this criteria in mind !

thanks a lot

HP f2105
Dell 2007WFP (ultrasharp is the same model ?)
Viewsonic VX2025WM
