£1900 Gaming PC

by better i mean more power just to allow for future upgrades, if you look at the nvida 9800 series most say "Finally 600W minimum for PSU and 700W+ is recommended"

Based on the OP specs, I would want a few more features on the mainboard with scope for SLI or crossfire at decent speed on both channels particuarly as vista or XP would be more or less locked to that board.

Other componts dont require such commment.

24 inch screen is way to expensive.

This is all just a tease?

Personaly for 2k

I reckon you could so a lot better, Q6600-4gig 6400/1TB and GTS, looks like a quarter just gone on the benq, perhaps the Ocuk 24" beast which is almost the samething....

Id check on Ocuk but there websites down.

But I know when I did my 2K pc would never consider less then Q6600 ;)

why only 4GB ram? how long do you want to keep the system for? if it's longer than a year or 2, then why not go for 8GB from the start? Also, if you want to keep the system for a while it might be better to go for a quad core (Q6600).

also, for the monitor, why not go for a 1080p tv? you can get 40/42" LCD tv for £4-600

as for the GPU, if you have on already, i'd use that until june/july since iirc, that's when the new cards come our from ATi. If you dont want one of those, it would at least knock down the prices of other cards.

Already have 2 GPU but they're both old nvidia AGPs so won't work in a new motherboard. Is the new card from ATI going to be good? The thing I don't like about ATI of recent is that they tend to be noisy and power hungry.

I'll echo what others have said, that if you're spending close to £2k on a gaming PC, you might as well go quad core. Much more futureproof, and you can pretty much overclock the difference anyway.
