1900+ XP or 2500+ Sempron

Hi,

I'm making some adjustments to my server and I now have the option of either an AMD Athlon XP 1900+ or a 2500+ Sempron and am not sure which to use. I'm leaning more towards the 1900+ because of the extra L2 cache but would like a second opinion please. Both will be installed with 786mb DDR RAM

i would use the Sempron but tbh, it doesnt really make much difference which one.

What the server doing? job role?

DC, file server- all sorts really. It's been running fine with the sempron but I'm just wondering whether I will get any better performance?

na i wudnt think so goping from a Sempron to a 1700 Athlon.

more RAM would give you a better performance along side the Sempron

Don't the old Athlons and Semprons both have 256k L2 cache anyway? My 1900+ palomino definately did.

Yea only Barton has 512K L2.
