Now here begs the question, do I wait for a 1950PRO in early October or just jump on a HIS 1900GT now? The Pro is a 80nm di and is clocked at 600MHz meaning it will clock even higher and run cooler but at what cost to the wallet?

What do you think?

X1950pro will be 80nm. It is a different core from the 90nm R580 used in the X1950XTX. Apart from integrated crossfire, slightly higher clocks and probably running a bit cooler, I can't really see any point in waiting for the X1950pro though. Maybe it will be a bit cheaper?

Me i would grab the X1900GT now, cracking price. I daresay the X1950 pro will cost more especially near release.

Grab a X1800XT or X1900XT or X1900GT now, im looking for specs for both and when i do I should be able to tell which is better :p

Edit: Actually, the X1950 Pro will be faster, about X1800XT speeds I think. Thats to 4 more pipeliens if the info is correct. PLus a faster clock speed at stock, new mem and 80nm its all good :D

Depends if you really need it now or not, the X1900GT is a cracking card but this Pro is yummy too :p

someone post the core specs for the x1950pro. how many pipes/shader/vertex/clocks etc.

Specifications of the RV570 core include 12 pipelines and 36 pixel shaders with a 600 MHz core clock. Memory will be clocked at 1.4 GHz and have a 256-bit interface. Radeon X1950 Pro cards will be equipped with 256 MB of graphics memory and sport a single slot cooler. This will also be ATI’s first card with internal CrossFire compatibility for dongle-less CrossFire.

Availability of the Radeon X1950 Pro is expected in October.

ATI claims performance of the Radeon X1950 Pro will be faster than the 7900GT.

seems to be the same specs as the x1900gt. and thats a lot slower than a 7900gt so not sure what ati are up to. i guess since the core is built from the ground up it will be native 12 pipes and not 16 locked down to 12. so i expect a cooler running gpu, less power consumption and depending if its still outfitted with gddr4 ram, it could have a drastic drop in power consumption.
