bought this from overclockers about 4 weeks ago.

ati tray tools is what im reading from .it also says overclocking disabled

i get the same reading in both ati tools and ccc

Did you disable I2C when you installed ATT?

ATT disables the 2D/3D service change automatically and thus disables CCC overclocking.

Uninstall CCC and learn ATT, aint difficult.

ive installed the omega drivers pack and ati tools still tells me its 500mhz/494 mem

i just overclocked to 625 witch should be stock and mem to 1500

it hanged and rebooted what else can i do is there another program witch tells me the true speed off the card as im starting to thing this is a duff one.

thnx for help guys.

There's nothing wrong with your card, the 500/594 are the 2D clock frequencies which ramp up when you start a fullscreen 3D application or a game. To overclock you essentially have to disable this process, and overclock the 2D clocks.

It's a little more involved than that, but Concorde Rules has a very detailed guide that is stickied at the top of this forum. You should check it out.

i treid ure giude but it would not let me save a 2d profile as it was greyed out.

i have a 1800xt here as well im going to put that back in as im shaw it displayed the correct clock settings and am going to bench mark both cards with 3dmark 2005.

im only running a p4 3.2 1 gig 400 ddr on a intell 915 mobo.

i made some 3d profiles at stock speed so looks like the card is ok the fan is realy loud now lol, does that mean the that the 3d kicks in ok

showing 625/725 3dmark2005 score was 7163

is this any good for my p3.2

thnx for ure help

WOODY, YOUR CARD IS FINE. YOU have broken the software.

Completely uninstall CCC and ATi Tray Tools.

Then install ATi Tray Tools, BUT don't justy rush through it, there is a I2C option box during the installation that should be UNCHECKED IIRC. (There is something about R580 cards at the end of the description).

Then go into services and disable both ATI services.

THEN you will have voltage, fan and clock control.

2005 score is way low, 2D 3D Mark 2005 for me is 9k+ .

You have to have the 3D profile settings set to high performance and no aa and af...

UNINSTALL EVERYTHING, REINSTALL ALL THE DEFAULT DRIVERS N STUFF, LEAVE IT, you WILL (thats you WILL) get proper core and mem speeds in 3D

hhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm-k ?

EDIT: Leave overclocking for now, just run default stuff, Ignore 500core speed in 2D mode, it runs that speed to save power

ununstalled everything just installed the ati drivers and ccc only

got 7368 a little better

p4 3.2 800fsb
gigabyte 8i915 mobo
1 gig off geil ddr4oo mhz

even when i overclock it makes no diffrence goes down a couple off ppoints lol

not very good system realy so maybe its about right.

or should i put a new windows on as ive just taken out a 1800xt so i havent formated yet would this help.as i would think they use the same drivers

Did you enable the ATI Services?
