This is what I got quoted on a ford escort Ghia 16v 1.6 TPFT, on Admerial bit too high for me anyone know any other MUCH CHEAPER insurance places? :D

BTW: I'm 19 the cars only £750 and looks nice so :D

Virgin?
Yes i know im Australian but i remember a post with a good price from them

This crops up almost weekly.

The simple answer is, try every company listed in the sticky, and one of them will be the cheapest.

Who may be cheap for one person may be expensive for someone else, the only way to know for sure you have the cheapest insurance is to get a quote from everyone.

I'm 20 and when I was 19 I paid £800 to insure my 1.6 Escort LX wih Admiral, so don't know whats going on with your quote.

Well might be the 16v the car is a 98 Ghia also Ghia meaning its got all the "flash" stuff Although Admiral did quote me 1300 on a fiesta ghia 1.25 16v which I tho was bit much but 1905.41!

Got any more guys cause I really like this car :D

Look nice is the only thing thats possibly nice about an Escort.

Your quote is ridiculous, at 19 with no NCB I paid £1200 TPFT to insure my Mondeo 2.0 16v, with modifications declared.

Neither the 'flash stuff' nor the 16v is the reason for the quote - there is no 'flash stuff' in an Escort Ghia, they are very poorly specified, the 16v engine in the 1.6 is not going to set the world on fire, 16v is not a byword for 'totally uber', contrary to popular belief.

lol well wish the insurance companies will give me a decent quote then :D cause for £750 this car looks quite nicely looked after may need a new cambelt since its at 85k
