1920 x 1200 - Resolution Problem some Games

Not sure what it is but seems to be in Steam more than non Steam games.

My native is 1920 x 1200 but in "Full Screen" its as if the image is shunted to the left so part of the game I cant see and I get a black border on the other side.

I have to go into Window but end up seeing the bars top and bottom, any fix for this.

its a NVidia btw.
 
Not sure if this is the case, but does your monitor support 1920x1200? Try 1920x1080, I think 1200 is widescreen. Whenever I try a 16:9 resolution on my monitor, they usually go like that due to it being 16:10. Yours might be the other way around.
 
thx chaps managed to sort by switching over to an HDMI lead, forgot I had moved it temp to another PC

now back to the excellent Rayman :D

I was going to suggest pressing the "auto" button on your monitor, glad you got it sorted :)

Erm, resolution is notated width x height. 1200 refers to the height of the monitor, not the width. 1920x1080 is 16:9, 1920x1200 is 16:10.
