1920x1080/1920x1200 - VRAM?

Ok, I have narrowed it down to two cards (both MSI!):

MSI GeForce GTX 570 OC Twin FrozR III Power Edition 1280MB

MSI GeForce GTX 580 OC Twin FrozR II 1536MB

I still cannot make up my mind whether it is worth spending the extra for the GTX 580 or not.

What resolution do you play your games at? If higher than 1080P get the GTX 580 as they shine at high resolutions.

Well, I'm getting a new monitor to go with either of these cards which will probably be the Dell UltraSharp U2312HM which is 1920x1080.

I'd get the 570 then. At 1080P both cards are kinda similar in benchmarks, but the value/performance ratio is better with the 570.

I'd also consider the 2.5gb 570.

I am in the same situation as well - I just bought a S27A950 and wonder whether I should get the MSI GTX580 1.5gb lightning edition or get 2x MSI Twin Froz III 6950 2GB if I want to max out at 1080p 120hz

x2 6950 destroys the gtx 580 http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/299?vs=305 (the lighting card has a overclock but wouldn't bring it near x2 6950)

I had same dilemma- yesterday thought sod it...drove over to O/C and bought the 580 gtx twin frozr- got to be worth it in the long term and it was on a special offer
