well at the min my max res is 1440x900 and i think that looks gr8 but i wanna go for a bigger screen but not sure what to go for i can get a very good 1920x1080 monitor fairly cheap but these 1920x1200 seems pretty expensive.
being has i've been stuck at 1440x900 for the last 3 years do you think a 1920x1080 monitor would be good for me was looking at the Acer H223HQ

1920x1080 is 16:9 where as 1920x1200 is 16:10, movies are generally produced in 16:9 where as most games/apps are produced for 16:10

think i might go get it got some brilliant reviews has hdcp too+hdmi input so i can use my ps3 on it can't complain really i can save a £100 on the one i was going to get and buy another 4870 lol

to be fair the border on 16:10 for 16:9 content isnt that big. you can always not 1:1 and stretch the image if it bothers you also.

the upside is that on games you get 230,400 extra pixels which is sort of nintendo wii resolution on top :D

well i went and brought it and it's (BORAT)VERY NICE(BORAT)
display is faultless the auto level are amazing very impressed with price and performance no wonder it got 5 out of 5 everywhere

My Dads just brought this monitor too (ACER H223HQ). Connected PS3 to it and looks pretty good. The blacks dont look very good IMO (but i'm by no means and expert either).

Its a nice looking monitor, glossy finish, stand seems pretty stirdy and solid too. Touch sensitive buttons are bit annoying, i prefer proper buttons.

Gran Tursimo 5 Prologue looks amazing in 1080.

Way most common movie aspect ratio is still shallower than that meanig there are black bars in every case.

And in normal use that 10% less pixels translates in practise to 20% less work area after deducting all menu bars etc of programs.
