This may be a bit of a weird question. At the moment i have my main monitor 1920x1200 (samsung T240) which i use mostly for gaming and my second monitor (the dieing one) which i use for watching dvd's, talking on msn, googling while using the main monitor for gaming, blue ray watching etc) 20inch samsung.
The 20" samsung is on its last legs so ive decided to get a new monitor to replace it -_- Ive looked around and can only seem to find 1920x1080 in my price range which is around £330.

I came across a 24" Benq XL2410T (1920x1080) which had a better spec to my main monitor. Would i notice much diffrence (in a neg way) going from 1920x1200 for gaming? I also plan on maybe getting a 3rd monitor later in the year to take advantage of eyefinity.

These are my questions:

1: Would i notice a negative diff when gaming on a 1920x1080 after playing for 2 years on a 1920x1200?

2: WOuld an eyefinity setup look weird with three diff res monitors (1x 1920x1200 2x1920x1080)

I recently switched from a 22" 1920x1200 to a 24" 1920x1080 and haven't noticed much of a difference but that's probabaly because I went up in screen size.

In your case you will gain a bit at the side but lose a bit more than that from the top. For gaming though I don't think you will notice much of a difference though.

This is a good little tool to give you an idea of what the difference will look like.

I haven't used eyefinity myself but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be viable with different resolutions. I don't think the image would sit at the same level so things wouldn't line up.

Edit: Just noticed it was the 20" you are replacing. In that case you will gain so much screen area that it will be fine. As 1920x1080 is the new standard you will find most games will be optimised to that res anyway.

No you wouldn't notice much difference. Although you lose a little vertical space and vertical FOV on most games, the way the majority are coded 16:9 will give you extra horizontal FOV on the game. The biggest differences you would notice would be when word processing and doing boring work type stuff ;).

i cant give you any advice on what to get but i have a t240 and its a great monitor :)

:O your the first person ive met that has that monitor lol I do love it :D its the best monitor ive had out of 10 monitors in about 15 years.
