As title, want actual experiences please :p

Budget depends on how fast they're gonna wear. Looking to spend £60 per corner per 15k ideally. Although will spend a bit more / get less millage if said tyre is epic. Bearing in mind my car shouldn't eat tyres being a mk2 golf weights very little.

Must be all season. Priorities in order;

Dry Grip
Wet Grip
Wear
Noise
Economy

So suggestions? Continental Premium Contact 2s looking to be the favourite at the moment but to be totally honest I know nothing when it comes to tyres :o

We have slightly stretched Eagle F1s on Kate's Mk2 and they are very very good in everything other than snow.

£60 is right at the top of that size's price range. Annoying as my 195/55R15s are about 50% more expensive for the same tyres.

Just run 50's ;)

My 306 ran 195/55 which was irritating, most people swapped to 50, but it made the car look odd, I went for Toyo T1-R in 195/55 but found they wore quite quickly.

I was tempted by the T1-Rs, being £40 in a 55 profile, but now they seem to be £60. I won't pay good tyre prices for an OK tyre. Looking at Continental Premium Contact 2s at the moment.

I'm hesitant to jump down to a 50 profile, 5th gear is already very low.

Must admit Michelin Pilot Exalto 2 look good actually, very good reviews. Lots of mention of wet handling (which is nice) but to be honest the car only gets properly pushed in the dry. Anyone got any experiance with them?

The PE2 is my first choic ein that size, it's all I've ever bought actually :)

Cracking tyre, great performance on small hatches, last ages too.

The hankook V12 evos are also supposed to be very good.

Keep reading that the Toyos are made of cheese and don't last, especially when driven hard for long periods of time.

I've got some Michelin PE2's in that size currently fitted. You do pay more for them, but the compond is pretty damn hard wearing - had a set on my old Saxo with 36k on them, they still had a good 4mm of tread left. Probably about 5k of that was 'spirited' miles.

Nice and predictable in the wet, no problems with standing water that I've experienced. Plenty grip in the dry too. Good all rounder. Would definitely buy again if I could get them at a good price. Failing that, a friend of mine has a set of Falken ZE912's in that size and he really rates them for the money.

Eagle F1 GSD3s. They're a lot cheaper than £60, I paid about £47/corner inc fitting, and as Lopez says they're excellent in everything other than ice/snow.

Yokohama Parada Spec 2, pretty cheap and a very good tyre.

I can't really comment on wear or noise as we have no interior and the car hardly gets used. My uncle who is a professional driver uses them on an old golf gti track car and said they were excellent in the wet.
