I should be getting my new card today and would like to know the best way of removing the old drivers before installing the new ones.

Are there any free programs out there that do this, or will a simple uninstalling of the drivers be fine?

If you do recommend any programs could you provide some links please.

THanks

Old drivers from what?

Are they ATI or nVidia, if there ATI just use add/remove programs, if there are nVidia try and do the same. If you really wanna scrub away all traces then try Driver Cleaner 3.3 works well for me!

1. uninstall any gfx card drivers from the add/remove programs control panel.

2. reboot into safe mode (press F8 at just after rebooting) then run Driver Cleaner Professional Edition http://www.drivercleaner.net, it's free. clean out any ati and nvidia gfx card drivers.

3. turn off pc and install new card, switch on and install new drivers.

that works perfectly for me every time, never needed to do a fresh windows install just for a gfx card.

They are both ATi so shouldnt be too much trouble.

Anyone know if the default drivers are the one to use with this card or are there any good updated drivers. As I have read that some people are keeping to the ones of the disc.
