Does anyone know if the 1950XT can run on the Seasonic S12 380W (25A on the 12v) I've been looking at the eXtreme PSU Calculator and that believes I can run it but I'm dubious!
If not would the 1950 Pro be the next best thing?

I think it'll be pushing it, around 28a on the 12v rail id say to be sure, x1950pro may be ok though, but id wait as the 320mb GTS is coming the 12th, so the prices of the x1950's should plummet, as thats supposedly coming in around the £200 mark. :)

I would like to get one of these cards for my PC Here are the specs on my power supply,

Output: +5V @ 32A
+12V @ 23A
-12V @ 0.8A
+3.3V @ 28A
+5VSB @ 2A
continuous = 410W
peak = 450W

Regulation: 5% (+3.3, +5, +12)
10% (-12)
Ripple: 1% (p-p)
Hold Time: 16ms
PG Delay: 300ms

Will this be ok,it currently runs the card in my sig ok..

I can't see that powering it with only 23a on the 12v rail.

Hi there,

I'be got a PSU with 14A +12V-1, 15A +12V-2, would this be OK to run a X1950XT or would I be safer with the X1950 Pro ?

Cheers

You'd get away with it I reckon :)

How confident are you :) :)

I read on the Sapphire forumns thats it's 30amps for the whole system not on the 12v rail,to run this card.

What brand is the PSU?

It's from a Company in the USA called Pcpowerandcooling who build the PSU's themselves.I cannot put up a link because they could be classed as a competitor.

The reason I bought from them is because the make PSU's for Dell computers.

They make rock solid PSUs, and were the original high performance PSU maker, so I don't think it would struggle at all.

Seconded Minstadave's comments.
When they list PSU power they take on board cheapo ones to cover their rears.
As long as you are not heavily overclocking the CPU, a decent 380W will be fine.

The CPU is not oveclocked so fingers crossed it will be ok then as I said before the make PSU's just for Dell which made me go with them in the first place.My only concern is after reading all these posts on here about black screens and games crashing I'm slightly concerned about buying the card.
