19inch widescreen or normal

For 19" I'd probably personally go with standard (4:3). Something seems wrong about 19" widescreen (probably the lack of vertical height), but I just can't quite put my finger on it ;)

Anything above that though (20", 22", 24", etc) - widescreen all the way!!

16:10 is standard for widescreen...

Go for the widescreen, you'll never go back. Used a freinds 19" one for a few months, have to say it's much beter than a 4:3 aspect ratio. Own a 20.1" myself, and would never consider buying a "normal" screen.

I mean, would you buy a non-widescreen tv?

The Hanns-g is a nice quality 19", http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-017-OK&groupid=17&catid=276&subcat=

Guess I need to re-read my posts when I change what I'm saying mid-way through a post :)

I think if I was buying a 19" tv, then I would probably avoid widescreen. Widescreen is great on a decent sized screen, but at that size it just looks wrong IMO.

I went for a 22" screen recently, partly because I felt even a 20" WS lacks sufficient height. It's all down to personal preference I guess.
