1GB - 800mhz or 2GB - 533mhz

as title really building a new rig and wondered if there would be much performance loss between 800mhz and 533mhz

I suppose that depends on the Memmory and if you are willing to overclock I bought crucial anniversary which crucial have told me

There's no point going for 800MHz ram unless you're overclocking. 2gb will look better than PC6400 on the spec list.

that doesnt include the boost from the lower latencies though, and the fact that the performance of C2Ds isnt very bandwith dependant.

Get ram that can run 1:1 with your FSB at whatever speeds you want, anything else is just bragging rights, with diminished performance increase for money spent. Save the case and put it into a better GFX or something.

going to be running an AMD AM2 5600+, i have a choce either 1GB of 800MHZ or 2GB of 533MHZ
