1GB at DDR400 or 2GB at DDR333?

Hello,

My second system (based on an ASUS K8N-E motherboard socket 754) is currently running a single stick of 512MB DDR400. I'm considering upgrading to a single 1GB DDR400 stick because with two sticks the motherboard drops the memory speed to DDR333.

My question is would it be better for me to go with 1GB at DDR400 or take a memory speed drop to DDR333 to go to 2GB (2 x 1GB)?

Basically the question is faster memory or more memory?

Lots of games benefit from having more than 1 GB now. Sell the 512 MB, get 2*1GB sticks, run 2GB DDR400. If you're going to buy 1.5 GB you may as well buy 2 GB, it's not going to be a lot more. 333 is quite a bit slower.

I've seen good dual channel ddr400 2GB kits (decent ram too not high latency) for around £120.
