1GB Circuit

Hi All
Anyone tested a 1GB Circuit before ? I tried Speedtest.net and it can't cope

What else is there that can be used ?

just run the benchmark on 2 or 3 servers at the same time and see the networck usage

If you can't find a way to saturate it you probably don't need it.

The idea of a speedtest gets a bit funny when your link to the ISP is faster than the link assigned to many servers. :eek:

(100 Mbit for a VPS isn't uncommon.)

P.S. I assume you mean Gbit. I wish everyone would write byte or bit to avoid confusion.

Best way to test a 1GB circuit is to get another one at another location and then get some transfers going between the two

Getting 500Mbps throughput through a 2860N is pretty good when its specs says it has a 300Mbps max throughput

You'd need one of the higher spec Ubiquiti routers or similar to get anywhere near 1Gbit.
