1gb memory card

just a quick question on average how many pictures from a 6mp camera can I get on a memory card?

Well, at full res, jpeg with my Canon S70 - 7.2 mega pixels. I can take about 1000 easy/

I will agree with that mate. I get 600-700 depending on the scene on a 2GB SD card. These are taken on my D50, Fine, Large Jpegs.

As said depends upon the settings, I use raw + basic jpeg and can get at least 150 pics

On a 1gb card? :eek:

Either very high levels of compression there then or there's something VERY wrong.

I get 900 images on a 4gb card at 9.1mp in jpeg. ~4.5mb each.
On my A80 I got around 2mb per image - thats only 4mp.

i get 82 images on a 1gb card on the D80, but thats shooting RAW only.
My old S5000 used to 100 or so jpgs on a 128mb XD card.
