If anyone is wondering which one to get, I suggest the 2GB as quite a few modern games now use more than 1GB of memory especially if you play at 1080p or greater. Battlefield 3, Dirt 3 and F1 2011 all use around 1.3GB of memory and I'm sure other games would as well.

I'm very happy with my purchase of the GTX 560ti although the fan is quite noisy when it reaches over 70% but it's still quieter than my old card the 4890.:)

lmao @ 95thrifles :P

erm, stupid post... everyone will know getting 2gb is better than 1gb, especially for 1080p gaming.

The extra gig won't hurt.
At the same time it isnt needed

I would just get whatever fits your budget. If you have a 1gb card, then there's nothing to worry about. Sure, you lose a bit of AA but remember, a 1080p, 580/570>6950

Quite a few DX 11 titles utilising more than 1GB @ 1080, yes it isn't needed as games scale but for the sake of ~£15-£20, why wouldn't you?

6990=590/580/6970+570/2GB 6950+2GB 560>6950+560 is my take on it, nothing in it at each price point really.

I would get an extra 1 Gb for 15-20 quid. On the 6950 its a no brainer, but on the 560 ti its an extra 50 quid which is overpriced.

I would currently wait for the next gen before considering 2 GB vram as the cards will actually be fast enough to render 2 GB worth of data at playable levels.

For £20-30 I certainly would, but more than that would be iffy.

You still have to remember, the vast majority of games still don't need The extra gig. I'd still get it of cheap :p
