1GB single DDR or 2x512mb DDR

Will the PC be stable if I was to run on a single stick of DDR 1GB. Or should I insert 2x512MB DDR. It's a work PC so not for gaming just Word, Excel etc

DDR2? Won't it only be single channel, thus reducing performance, if you don't use two sticks?

1 stick of 1GB = Single Channel
2x512MB = 1Gb = Dual Channel

Dual Channel is lots better than Single channel but that up to you which one - my dad using 2x1GB = 2GB Dual Channels for his only work it lots quicker to open software application plus Firefox web brower.

It depends how much memory your pc can take - mine can only take 1gb so it had to be 2x512's.
If it can take more why not put 1gb in then you always have a slot free to upgrade.
