1k gaming rig, need everything but OS.

Hey guys, my mate has asked me to build him a gaming rig, i have a max budget of 1k pretty strict on that.

Will be used for gaming, internet use, films etc...

need monitor, mouse and keyboard as well as the actual PC.

The Z9 isn't a bad case at all (I own one), it's got lots of kit for the price but needs a little tinkering to get the best from it. There is now a USB3 version available that isn't stocked here. If i was buying a Z9 i'd want the USB3 myself. I've used the shinobi which has a proper window and not mesh (which lets in dust).

Few other changes, keep the modular PSU it's a luxury but very useful in midi tower cases. The 612S can have 2 fans mounted to it, it comes with the brackets unlike some other heatsinks that claim to take two fans. I used the OEM CPU as it's cheaper whilst on offer, it only has a one year warranty (CPU failure is rare) and no stock heatsink......not an issue as i included a better one.

Slight tweak to get a better GPU in the 7950. 7850 vs 7950 benchmarks but a 7870 would still be good and a little cheaper.
