Just got my endowment policy, meaning i have around £1k - £1.2k to spend on a brand new computer. Main purpose would be gaming, but also for other general stuff from time to time. If you had £1.2k tops to spend on a new computer, what would you buy? i already have an MX510 mouse, QPad Mousepad and the saitek eclipse keyboard from this site, so i only really need the tower although a new monitor would be great, thnx in advance.

Welcome to the forums. Maybe go for something like this. You have good solid components with decent overclocking potential. I don't know much about the monitor though, I just picked one in budget with decent specifications so have a look in the Monitors sub-forum to see if it is any good. :)

That spec is almost exactly what I would have suggested except the Noctua NH-U12F cause I'm really impressed with it. Can't go wrong with that setup!

If going for the G.Skill would have to be pretty quick, This week only changes in a few hours!! I would lean towards the GeIL its very popular and highly overclockable.

Hey, thnx for the quick replies. Thats what i pretty much had in mind, and as soon as i get the cheque from the bank im ordering the stuff straigh away, cant wait

"This week only" deals have been updated and they are even more generous on DDR2 RAM!! Geil PC6400C5 is now under £90 and both C4 and OCZ plat. are under £100 exc. VAT.
