So about 6 weeks ago i got a new build costing £1k.

i7 2600 (3.4ghz).
8 gigs ram
GTX 560ti.

admittedly i am only running a resolution of 1366x768.
But all the games i've played so far graphics wise are the same as my xbox360.

games played: Crysis- some good scenes but a lot of it the graphics seem clumbsy, popping in etc.
Fear 3. jeez that looked kinda out of focus.
F1 2011. very mediocre to look at.
Mafia 2. again looks nice in places but poo in others, graphics drawing in the far distance etc.

latest nvidia drivers etc.
all games running on max/ultra.
all games run smooth.

I didnt even bother trying Rage with all the pc problems i've read about so i got it on Xbox360. obviously my expectations are lower but it does look bloody sweet.
i also got Forza 4. hell thats a good game to play and look at.
also got my tiger woods 12 back as you cant even get a decent golf game on PC anymore.

Im not being a troll, hell i spent £1000 to get back into pc gaming.
if im honest to "me" it feels like gaming on the PC other than RTS games is really over.
its not just the graphics as well, i just feel the games play "different". not as good.
I havent got room for a monitor where the PC is so i currently have to use my sony tv with the 1366x768 res. but surely cranking the res up to 1920x1080 isnt gonna magicaly transform these games to look so different?

in short my £1k pc is like looking at xbox games with less jaggies.

ok calm down girls!
i've already said i will look into a higher res screen.
no need to call me a tool and an idiot and i should be banned lol.

Just to remind people this thread has been resolved for me.
you guys have pointed out my error, that indeed a higher resolution will vastly improve my experience.

also i'd like to add i didnt have the time or the skill to build my own pc, and at the time the place that built it for me online was sadly about £200 cheaper than overclockers so i wasnt ripped off as much as you guys think.

i'm also not trolling and suggesting consoles are better than pc's as i have both platforms.
I will try again with the PC when i sort a new HD TV out.

what i have noticed since returning to pc games (was a long time pc gamer for over 10 years) is that the games seem to run a lot better these days, not as much headaches and fiddling as yesteryear.

Now do calm down girls :D
