Hi folks,

Could anyone with a few minutes spare please tell me what you think of this £1,000.

I’ve put this basket together for a colleague who is an avid gamer, very much into his flight simulators although he also has a huge selection of others games. Ultimately he wants something that will run everything he installs to run of full graphic settings for the next couple of years.

He will be running it on 24” Benq XL2410T 24inch. I’ve yet to convince him that he should overclock it, so have left it with stock cooling for the moment. Shouldn’t cost much to get some decent 3rd party cooling when I do convince him!

I know I have already gone over budget; it’s so easy when it’s not your money! I have shown him this spec and he hasn’t complained about the extra £100.

So OcUK, what do you think? I’m very interesting in any advice/amendments you think should be made to this.

Thanks a lot!

Bonjour mon ami, je m'appelle Stulid

1) Get the K edition CPU as it supports overclocking
2) MSI P67 B3 Revision boards appear to have less problems
3) Switch out the Vengeance for lower profile heatsink RAM. Honestly, any £30-40 DDR3 will do.
4) I would personally go for a cheaper SSD as you are nearly capable of getting a larger capacity at that price point

Wow! That was an incredibly quick response from you guys. Thanks very much for your advice. I will definately be promoting RJC's spec to my colleague tomorrow, looks like a very good alternative, and well within budget!

Thanks again!
