Hi guys, just wanted some advice on "what order to put my components together" so that it all goes as smoothly as possible tonight when I attempt my first build?

I was thinking something like:

1. Case, remove left & right panel.
2. Fit PSU, ground case.
3. CPU into Mobo socket, thermal compound, Cooler, RAM (all outside of case)
4. Put above into case
5. GPU
6. HDD & Optical
7. Connect Data Cables
8. Connect Power cables
9. Peripherals
10. Install Software

Would you change the order of anything? How do you normally tackle a build?
Sorry if it seems a dumb question but I am a bit nervous about trying this for the first time and feel I need all the advice I can get.

Cheers

Sounds about right

Good guide here

EDIT: Whats the spec, e.g. case? Maybe someone might add a tip or caution

Also, download latest drivers, etc & have them handy when installing software

depending if you have 4gb of ram and what motherboard you have, might be worth searching the web for ram settings for your board, this caused me a massive headache over the last few days and it turned out to be ram settings as i had 4gb ram....worked fine with 2gb.

Just to let you know.

not sure about the 1200 case, but possibly put the the HDD & optical in before the GPU just incasethe GPU blocks access to the HDD cage.
