1st Custom loop advice needed

Will be cooling just a 3570k for the moment and maybe my Gigabyte 7950 on a later project.

So far I have:
XSPC RX240 rad
2 x black Apache fans
pipe cutters
silver kill coils

couple of q's:
1.If I buy the 'light' versions of any of the 1155 blocks can I use any 1155 backplate or does it have to be specific to the manufacturer of the block.

2.Was considering getting the XSPC 750 v4 pump/res, but seen some -ve comments, would I be better off getting an EK DCP 4.0 and separate res?

You will need the backplate made for the block.

Pump wise, personally I'd push an extra £15 or so and get a DDC. Sure, the DCP 4.0 ain't too bad, but in terms of modability and future options (Bay Res, tops etc etc) there's a much wider range for the DDC
