Personal Profile
I am a final year Estates Management student, keen to pursue a career in surveying. I like to work as a team member and have enjoyed the multi-disciplinary project work as part of my final year activities at University. I have a keen eye on business and on entrepreneurial activities having previously set up two small but successful businesses between the ages of 14 and 18. Through this I have gained experience in spotting potential gaps in the market as well as developing and implementing a plan to capitalise on such. I have had a longstanding interest in the property industry spawning from my family’s involvement in property investment and my uncle’s job as a chartered surveyor.

Eight GCSEs (grades a – c including Maths and English)
Additional Work Experience
2006-Present Customer Services Assistant (part-time) at William Hill Turf Accountant: Currently training towards becoming a deputy manager to exploit my time left there, gaining more responsibility and management skills.
Through my experience in this job I feel I have gained some skills and qualities that I can carry on to future employment. Through the customer-employee relationships required for the job I feel I am more confident engaging people in conversations and building relationships with them.
Responsibility is another quality I will bring away from this job; through the experience in handling large amounts of cash and being responsible for protecting the company against frequent fraudulent attacks. Being a member of a team in a very pressured and fast paced job has also improved my ability to work as part of a team.
2003-2006 Other part-time employment: these include being a clerical worker at a NHS general hospital and a call centre operator; these have enhanced my skills in effective communication, team working, and business client work.
2000-2003 The development of my own small businesses: the first of these involved the importing an electronic product from a supplier in Hong Kong, and then selling the product through a website to the UK market; the second involved the development and sale of a computer security informational CD-ROM.
I found it exciting to be earning money at an early age, through the development of my businesses, especially as it was providing more earnings than part-time work could. It also developed confidence in my abilities and furthered my ambition for an exciting and successful career.
Activities & Interests
I enjoy golf and try to spend time playing with friends whenever I can. I take pleasure in exercise and competitive sport. I was also involved in the rowing and rifle clubs in University.
I am interested in business and architecture. having been a subscriber to Estates Gazette for a number of years and also a student member of the RICS.
