Hi,

My son is looking for his 1st gaming PC, ideally wants to run the latest games, GTAV etc, but I know for his budget of £600 this will not be at highest graphics.

Looking for ideas, budget of £500-£600, not including monitor, keyboard, mouse, but I will need an OS.

Idea of what to buy please, plus cost of building this as I have never attempted a build before, is it really hard to do?

Take a look at videos on youtube on how to build a pc and see if you think you could do it as it will give you more budget for your build.

I have looked on YouTube etc and seen loads of videos and I think I should be able to build it, I have a friend who built his own, so if I get stuck I could always get him to help. So, I think I would be looking at around £500-£600 budget for a build, any recommendations would be helpful.

If you weren't completely comfortable building it yourself check out this spec I put together, it does go a little bit over the budget but would save you the trouble of putting it together.

You could also add a wireless card in there should you need to.

Thanks, that's a great help.

Would that build be able to cope with the latest games, GTAV, COD etc, as these are the types of things that he plays. If not, could you suggest what changes I would need to make, while trying to keep the cost increase as minimal as possible.

Thanks for your time.

No worries at all.

Yes that system would handle those games completely fine, the only thing I would probably suggest is adding an SSD to the build to improve the systems boot time, other than that anything else I would suggest upgrading would increase the price too much.
