HI
Been hanging about a while reading the forums and thought it was time to dip my toes into a bit of overclocking.

my system is

E 6600 core2/artic cooler freezer 7 pro
Asus p5w dh deluxe MB
4 gb kingston hyperx 1066mhz memory
Gainward 4870x2 graphics card
creative labs x-fi sound card
corsair tx 850 psu
Windows vista 64 bit

I'm still using an old coolermaster centurion case, which even thought ive added a second rear 80 mm fan ans a 120mm in the side is still not upto the job. I have the top off at the moment which is giving a 8 degree difference.
Proberblly going to get a Silverstone fortress, but am still slightlly tempted by the new haf 922. Untill then i dont want to try and push things too much.
Using orthos it held stable for 6 hours hitting 61 degrees with the lid off with a 26 degree room temp, wich seems ok.

I took a screen off my settings. Does anything stand out as being dangerous or wrong ??? apart from the overlarge picture:eek:

all advise welcome as i have a lot to learn:o

Cant see any obvious big problems, apart from the resolution of that wallpaper
*gyaah, my eyes*

I still reckon even that CPU speed will be holding the 4870x2 back though.

Cool. i was hoping i had'nt made any silly mistakes, but i supose orthos would have shown anything up.
As to the cpu holding back the gpu, i was wondering about that, but after spending on the graphics and new memory, OS and psu i think after a new case things will have to wait a while for an i7 . Hopfully prices would have come down abit in a few months.
On the plus i did get the e6600 to 3.6 with 4.25 volts, but 10 mins into orthos temps went above 65 degrees so i cancelled out. With a new case with good airflow i'm hopping on a higher stable clock than the 3.2 i have at the moment .....
