I'm trying to setup a connection with two computers to share internet connection but can't get PC2 to ping PC1. However PC1 can ping PC2.

About PC1:

It's connected to a wireless router (Netgear DG834PN) with a cable.
It'ss running Zone Alarm Security Suite and I have added PC2 and its IP to the trusted zone.
It isn't running Windows Firewall
I ran Network Setup Wizard, chose This computer connects directly to the Internet and Turned on File Sharing.
ICS is enabled as well as the option to allow a computer to establish a connection.

About PC2:

It's wirelesly connected to the router with a Netgear USB adapter.
I went to Internet Options->Connections->Setup->Connect to the Internet->Manual Setup->Connect using a Broadband Connection that is always on.
I ran Network Setup Wizard and selected the options to allow it to connect to the Internet through another PC and turned on File/Printer sharing.
I've manually assigned IP Address (192.168.0.5), Subnet Mask (255.255.255.0), Default Gateway (192.168.0.1), Preferred & Alternate DNS Server (given by my ISP).
It's running WIndows Firewall

The IP of the router is 192.168.0.4

Everything else is with their default settings apart from the router that has only been configured for its modem function, which I am not willing to use.

I haven't been able to figure out a solution to this problem for quite some time now and would really appreaciate your help to make the connection work.

What IP addresses does PC1 have? It should have 2 as ICS is enabled. What IP address are you pinging on PC1?

Very silly question, why have ics enabled on PC1 when you're using a router?

Unless you have a specific reason for it, I would turn it off so you just have the router handing out the IP addresses automatically.

PC1 is 192.168.0.1 and I'm trying to ping 192.168.0.2 on it.

What do you mean by "it should have 2"?

I have problems surfing when using the router's modem, like partial/slow loading, not being able to upload on HTTP, or use FTP, difficulties to sign in MSN messenger etc...
I have posted this problem here several times before, and on other forums including Netgear's. But it hasn't been resolved.

That's why I'm trying to use ICS, as PC1 is almost always on.
