Got myself a new toy over the weekend, a Sigma EF500 DG Super flashgun :D

I've agreed to do a wedding shoot in 7 weeks so I figured I needed to get a flash. As i've never really done any flash photography before what advice and tips do you have?

This is the first interesting shot ive taken with it

I have this flash! It's definetly a great buy.

My advice, hmmm well i tend to either stick to fully auto or fully manual, depending on my mood. Havent really learnt what the other modes do yet but its probably worth finding out one day! You'll wanna get a diffuser to cover the flash to make it less extreme/you can bounce the flash of ceilings or walls to get a more natural effect.

Also as I'm sure you'll discover soon, keep plenty of batterys handy! This thing eats them. Also as the batteries lose power the recharge time can increase can dramatically so keep an eye on that!
