Going to have a go at my first build and looking for some advice on components. Going to be used mainly for gaming and surfing the net.
Plan to use the antec 900 case, pioneer DVR-212 DVD RW, samsung spinpoint 160GB hard drive, both SATA. Was also planning on either the Antec TruePower Trio 650W PSU or Corsair TX 650W ATX2.2 SLi Compliant PSU

My main concern is choosing the correct processor, ram and mobo combo.
Was thinking of
mob:-http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-243-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=913

processor:-http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-192-IN&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=793
or

I'm really unsure what is the best option, do i go for a core 2 duo or a core 2 quad. I plan to do a bit of overclocking but don't want to push to the limit and will use an arctic cooling freezer 7 pro cooler. Any advice here is welcome on these or other options, not looking to go more than £200 for a processor.

RAM:- Again not realy sure about the best option but looking at this

I plan to still run XP as i'm not convinced about vista yet so 2GB should be enough.
Not chose a graphic card yet, will wait till i'm going to order the above and see what cards are around at that time, it will be Nvidia though.

Any comments/help on the above is much appreciated.

thanks
glen

Thanks for the advice guys. One thing i was wondering was, is it better to have a faster core 2 duo e.g an E8400 running at 3GHz than a core 2 quad running slower e.g Q6600 running at 2.4GHZ, this is before any overclocking is taken into account. For a gaming rig what would be the best option, duo or quad?

Yeah. What would the best processor be for a gaming rig? I have a Q6600 but what can you get by with easily (without overclock) for latest games.
